PayPal credit card review

PayPal Credit is an open end (revolving) credit card account that provides a reusable credit line built into your account with PayPal giving you the flexibility to pay for your purchases right away or pay over time. ... PayPal Credit is subject to credit approval and is offered by Synchrony Bank.

Personally, I’ve loved my experience with this card. It’s my first credit card, as I was denied from the Discover It card. I’m a college student too and cover daily expenses using this card. I signed up around November, since they had a promotion in which they gave you 4% Cashback until January.

This card is best for people who use Paypal regularly, as is my case. I think they finally have its own website, but to be honest I never had any issue with being redirected to Synchrony. For people who don’t use Paypal regularly, perhaps the redeeming process might be a little inconvenient.

Regardless, enjoy it! I’ve loved my experience thus far, customer service has been awesome and, as it’s my “starter” card, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed redeeming Cashback.

PayPal credit card review (pros & cons)

It’s a good card.

Pros:

2% cashback is easy. Redeem any time. Set up auto pay. It’s no Amex Rose Gold but I’ve gotten a compliment on the looks. Had to replace a lost card, calling customer service was easy and new card came in quickly. Even got a RARE sign up bonus when I applied- $100 for $1000 spend.

Cons:

No dedicated banking website or mobile app. You log into PayPal and get redirected to Synchrony... a set up that is just terrible in this day and age. Calling customer service is sometimes hit or miss on whether the other person is nice or bitchy. When I got my new replacement card, the new card was not automatically connected to my login and I had to call in to get it relinked. Cannot link the card to ApplePay because they are a competitor for PayPal but then PayPal doesn’t have mobile payments!
